ONA15 consists of multiple Bargaining Units and requires funds above the amounts provided through general membership dues to remain viable and independent to make decisions without supplemental funding support.
ONA15 currently has a monthly $5.00 Dues Levy per member to support the work of ONA15. This levy is collected by the employer. ONA15’s Dues Levy are deposited into the Discretionary Account and spending from this account this will be directed towards the following:
- Admin costs in excess of those covered by the operating fund or relating to discretionary expenditures.
- Enhanced educational opportunities, including Bursaries
- Honoraria
- Nurses Week
- Equipment
- IT Services, including equipment and website development.
- Political Action, CFNU, support for nursing student education and professional activities.
- Members Appreciation: gifts, donations, and memorial contributions
- Gifts and Memorial donations
- Political action approved at the AGM
- Strike funding when required.
At the AGM, a motion will be made on continuing the Dues Levy for that budget year and the amount of the dues levy.
