Local Coordinator’s Message

Welcome to the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA) Local 15.  We appreciate you dropping in to visit our website which presents the activities of the Executive and members of Local 15; from our hospitals, nursing homes, homes for the aged, public health, community care access centre, clinics and developmental centre- 18 Bargaining Units strong!

Geographically we cover the area from Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Fergus, Arthur Mount Forest and Palmerston.  We are over 800 members and we are invaluable to the health-care system.

Provincially, ONA represents 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals – as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates – and is the trusted voice of Ontario’s nurses. ONA is committed to an excellent quality of work-life for members so they can provide high-quality care to Ontario’s residents. . Please go to www.ona.org  for more information.

Our Local 15 Bargaining Units have members who are both registered nurses and health care professionals. From negotiations, grievances and professional practice issues to political action, ONA and Local 15 work throughout the year for and with our members.

For more detail on the issues impacting ONA’s members and to stay informed on important healthcare issues in general, please visit ONA’s website at www.ona.org. Consider following and “liking” ONA on Facebook to receive the latest updates at:  https://www.facebook.com/OntarioNurses

I also encourage members to talk to their Bargaining Unit President or Site rep to find out more about the education, campaigns and resources that ONA has to offer you in valuing the work that you do and upholding the Collective Agreement in your workplace.

Sincerely,
